ODM  Deputy  party  leader  Wycliffe Oparanya has stated  that the  mass demonstrations will resume from May 2.

Last week, Azimio party leader  Raila Odinga announced that they will continue there mass demonstrations  after what he said was the  government  inability to genuinely take the bi- partisan discussions seriously.

Following consultative meetings  with other Azimio  leaders, they resolve to have the discussions and demos running simultaneously. "Nothing stops mediation  out of Parliament, the dialogue  will go on as we go on with the mass demonstrations," said Raila.

In  a response to the  by the Kenya  Conference  of Catholic  Bishops  urged the government to  intervene  and bring down the expense of living in the country, Azimio had agreed  to collaborate with them in seeking solution for this matter for Kenyans who are languishing in hunger and poverty due to the high cost of basic needs.

In a six-page proclamation, the Catholic Diocesans likewise express their dissatisfaction with regards to "destructive  demonstrations which even leads to loss of lives" and supported dialogue, which they say is "the  best method " to solve  Kenya's socio-political difficulties.

Azimio has rebuked the church for calling , the mass demonstrations  violent and illegal  and out of order .

"As we have expressed in the past , our fights have been and will keep on being  peaceful except if the state releases police and hooligans on  the protesters," read the explanation by Azimio.

The Azimio brigade  is calling upon the  church  to partner  with Kenyans in  urging  the State to respect  section  37 of the Constitution, which concedes each individual the right to peaceful  gathering and picketing.

Bipartisan discussions started off last week with Azimo and Kenya Kwanza parties  settling on the  venue of the debut meeting. While there has been progress, differences   exist over the composition  of the adhoc committee . Kenya Kwanza is against the inclusion  of Pokot South MP David P'Kosing (KUP) as a member  from Azimio group on grounds that his party chief John Lonyangapuo has gone into an alliance with Kenya Kwanza.

Then again Azimio has protested  the inclusion of  Eldas MP Adan Keynan in the Kenya Kwanza group saying that member elected on jubilee part  is  a member of Azimio.

National assembly majority party leader Kimani Ichung'wah explained that  expulsion of any name from the list  should be  referred to the leadership of the sponsoring  party organs.

In any case, the adhoc committee  individuals said that official considerations are yet to start and that last week's gathering was for members to get to know one another. "The formal meeting  will start  after the names are brought to Parliament and approved ," said Senate Majority  party Whip Boni Khalwale.
